We get calls all the time, asking for a step-by-step guide to perform a restoration. Many people get started and quickly become intimidated by the number of individual projects involved in a restoration and then find themselves looking for a magic “formula.”.
Well, we have not found a magic formula but over several upcoming posts we thought we’d put together an outline that should help you keep your project on course. Until then, here are a few more pictures from this project.
- This is the dash and floor pan that was delivered to the shop.
- It might be overstated a bit here on the website, but measurements are critical. Here is Glen making a test placement.
- More measurements and adjustments. Note the small and absolutley square body hammer.
- Ty’s experience pays off again. Although panels are precision pieces they still have to be adjusted to fit.
- A boring photo of the original dash with glove box.
- Original dash before instruments are removed.
- The previous attempt at putting in new floor boards will not do.
- This photo is from days ago. This assembly is used to determine measurements for the new restoration.
- Glen and Ty try fitting a panel with measurements taken from the carcass.
